  Food Groups: Carbohydrates

  Proper nutrition is the most important for health and longevity. Different food gives different nutrients. All foods fall under 5 food groups. The healthiest of these are carbohydrates. Grains, breads, rice, pasta, flour and potatoes are all carbohydrates and are a good source of energy. Try to add one of them to each meal.

  Are placed second most important to health, as a food group, both have lots of fiber, which helps the body function properly and helps with metabolism. It also lowers cholesterol. Eating fruit and vegetables increases the body’s immune system and provides protection against disease and also gives a therapeutic effect. Fruit and vegetables contain vitamins, minerals, pectin, organic acids and sugars, which can be called living energy and only exists in fruit and vegetables.

  Food Groups: Milk and Diary

  Milk and dairy products are very important group in the 5 food groups and they are a source of complete proteins and full digestible fat and calcium. Small quantities of milk contain all the vitamins. Milk contains calcium and helps strengthen bones and combating heart disease. Milk also contains vitamins A, B2, B12, E, D, and K, calcium, potassium, iodine, phosphorus and protein.

  We need 2-4 servings of protein, including dairy products such as milk, cheese and yoghurt and 1-2 servings of healthy fats.
